And according to my sources, he wrote one more book that did not take off, because he is a liar, and has virtually disappeared into obscurity. Better tell your information center they need to update their files. LOL |

Standard Catholic internet apologist ploy. This response has nothing to do with the op, nor is it intended to. Needless to say, Catholic internet apologists will not deal with the op. |

Ruth116 wrote: Why did he sell a gazillion copies then? Evangelics bought this guy hook line and sinker. I'm not going to accuse anyone of being a liar but this is hard to believe.. Not one so-called christian on this board has bought and read a copy of that tripe? I would go on to think that you folks sleep at night with it under your pillows. I didn't know who this catholic guy was until I saw a mention of him on an evangelic board most catholics were not even aware of the guy or his book. |

Never heard of the guy and never went for date setting about anything.
And you need to update your info on evangelicals while you're at it. To start with, THEY'VE NEVER BEEN CALLED EVANGELICS. Today they're usually called neo-evangelicals because they've been led far off course by phony leadership influenced by apostates, papal ecumenical movement, the USCCB and other catholic and new age organizations working under the radar. |

No Davey, if I was going to sleep with a book under my pillow it would be God's Word and I don't do that either, I read it and treat it with respect for what it is. You mean to tell me you NEVER heard of those so-called Fatima Secrets, which is what his book is all about? Yea right. ![]() ![]()

I discovered the guy through evangelics a few months ago. Why would I believe you guys? I just did a search on this very board on 'Hal Lindsey',
although it's not unanimous there are evangelics here that are groupies.
You folks act like the pope and the entire catholic leadership had endorsed this guys book. |

I don't know anyone on here who claims Hal Lindsey as their favorite teacher, but the LORD certainly gives him insight from time to time when it comes to prophecy. |

Catholic internet apologists will never acknowledge that a person follows Jesus Christ and Him alone.
That is why they attempt to place labels on them. Since they don't follow Jesus themselves, they automatically assume no one else does either. |

1988, and yet they continue to follow him. Why belittle a small group of Catholics who read the guy in the op when millions of evangelics read Lindsey.

And how do you know millions of people read Lindsey or if ANYONE still listens to the author of "88 Reasons Jesus Will Come in 1988". The man was proven a false prophet, his second book did not sell the following year, and quite frankly he is in obscurity. Quit your damned lying! |

We read we don't necessarily agree with him on everything. Remember we are talking prophecy, not matters of Doctrine, especially Salvation issues. Okay then specifically dealing with the end-time speculation that this guy proposes from the OP its not as big as people want to make it out to be. I know what Maranatha means and how to spell it. |

People love the spectacular, buying 25 millions of Lindsey's failure, and over 6 millions of Whisenant's. That's alot of readers. |
